Meditation Myths

1)You have to be “woo woo” to meditate

Meditations do not need to involve you counting backwards from 50, sitting under your special tree, feeling the wind in your hair whilst you balance your chakras to be effective!

I believe that real life meditations that reflect real life scenarios are the most effective – This helps you to relax a lot quicker as you start to visualise and connect with your goals on a deeper level.

2)You have to meditate for long periods of time to make them beneficial

The key to making lasting positive changes through meditation is to be consistent. I never make my meditations longer than 5 minutes so they can fit into any busy schedule but I would highly recommend you listen at least once a day (twice or more if you feel stressed!)

3)You need to completely clear your mind to meditate successfully

The more you meditate the easier it will become to switch off and relax but even in the early days if you find your mind wandering that’s ok – it will still be beneficial. I allow the relaxing background music to keep playing at the end of the meditation, even by listening to that you will feel the benefits.
